What is coaching?
Coaching gives you the ability to join a live ZOOM video call to ask your questions and get feedback on your playing from a live Jazzedge teacher.
All levels of player are welcome to attend. You do not need to register for coaching or let us know that you are going to attend. Just click 'join session' and ask questions or just watch and learn from other students' questions.
Am I required to attend coaching?
You are not required to attend coaching. However, it is highly recommended!
The best way to improve is to get feedback and suggestions from a real teacher. This is what you get with coaching. Plus, you get to meet and learn from other students. If you're the shy type, you can come and observe only. You can opt to show or hide your camera. You are in complete control.
Is coaching included with my membership?
Beginning in 2022, coaching is now a part of any membership. If you are unsure about access to coaching for your current membership level, just contact us and we will be happy to help.
I'm a beginner. Should I attend coaching?
Absolutely! Most students are nervous at first because they don't know what to expect. We're all people over here at Jazzedge and we are here to help you succeed at music. Take a look at one of the coaching replays if you want to see what live coaching is like before joining.
Remember, you are in complete control. You DO NOT need to show your camera or unmute your microphone. This means you are welcomed to just 'observe' until you feel comfortable.
You do not have to be at a certain level to join or benefit from coaching. It is open to all students of all levels.
How do I submit a video or question for coaching?
To submit your video or question for coaching, click here. When uploading your video to Youtube, please set it to be "Public" or "Unlisted." If you upload your video as private, we will not be able to see it for coaching.
Don't worry, if you don't submit a video or question ahead of time, the teacher will take questions live during the session as well.
However, if you want to be guaranteed a spot, it is suggested you submit your question or video ahead of time.
Is there a coaching schedule?
Yes, if you click on the 'Events' tab you'll see the upcoming coaching schedule. You can also see all events here.
Be sure to check the event page in case of any last minute changes!
Can I still receive coaching if I can't attend live?
Don't worry! This is why we created a coaching feedback form. This allows you to submit your question or video (or both) ahead of time so the teacher can give you feedback that you can review on the recording.
All coaching sessions are recorded and posted a few hours after the session, so you can come back anytime after the session to watch the replay.
